I am showing a weird painting (as well as others, I believe) I have been grinding away on for the past month at this Beerfest at Hensley’s event. I am starting to get the fear a little as I still have a lot to do on it to finish, but having a “due date” is helpful, sometimes. I could easily stretch this out for another month or two, and with some cool work on the horizon finishing this beast is paramount. So come look at it on Sunday. Everything I know about this event I learned from the flyer posted above which I grabbed off the Burning Of Rome‘s myspace page. Good tunes by Tactik, Burning Of Rome, Red Octopus, Satanic Puppeteer Orchestra, and Sound System. Art by Pablo, Matty, Artoo, Sara Spinks, Alex Chiu, Hunter Feirich and Neil McLean. At Hensley’s Flying Elephant on Sunday, May 30th.

Many thanks to Carissa Casares and the San Diego CityBeat staff for showing me some love in their magazine and on their website. Nice folks. There will be a big update to my website early next week. I will be adding pics of all the new pieces I have been making for the Site For Sore Eyes show. But if you are in the area, you should just come and look at them on Saturday.

I’ve been making a new website. You are on it if you are reading this. It wasn’t my favorite thing to do but it needed to be done. Now a new (AND IMPROVED) blog and a fairly complete archive of my art and design work are all right here, in one convenient interweb location. It’s not at 100% completion yet as I still need to add notes and information to all the work/art galleries, but the pictures are up, and that’s what I’m about, pictures. I also started freelancing again for 20th Century Fox Television, recently hand painted some album art for Irradio, and finished about 3 more paintings for an art show I am putting together for March at a tranny bar downtown San Diego. No joke. So I’m BUSY, alright? I’m not going to post many more pictures of my new pieces until closer to the show, but if you browse the art galleries I bet you will see something you haven’t seen before, and I promise to post some sneek-peeks of new stuff. This year is setting up to kick major ass and I am looking for more opportunities to show art, and illustrate/paint your album/skateboard/t-shirt/face/whatever. Please contact me if you are someone in need of these services ’cause Pancake’s your man, man. Stay tuned.

The “Lyrically Speaking” print show is opening today and tomorrow in conjunction with the 2009 Independent Record Store Day. My Black Sabbath inspired “Wizard” art print will be available at these shows.

Saturday, April 18, 2009 Size Records in Oklahoma City and 52.5 Records in Charleston, SC.
